On August 24th hundreds of guests flooded the Bowery sidewalk in support of the Beautiful Losers. Alongside RVCA's PM Tenore and curator / Alleged Gallery's Aaron Rose were guests including Aziz Ansari, Justin Theroux, Lourdes Leon, Stacey Bendet, Heron Preston, Gigi Burris, Paloma Elsesser, Adi Gil, Angela Donhauser, Gabriel Asfour, Leo Fitzpatrick, Michael Avedon, Jack Greer, Alex Olson, Kunichi Nomura, Andrew Reynolds, Morgan Colette, Timothee Chamolet, Alex Knost, Sarah Andelman, Humberto Leon, Bert Krak, Steve "ESPO" Powers , Jo Jackson, Ed Templeton, Deanna Templeton, Todd James, Cheryl Dunn, Ricky Saiz, Richie Shazam Khan, Kevin "Spanky" Long, Erik Foss, Coco Baudelle, Danny Fuller, Chris Johanson, Cory Kennedy, Luke Davis, Satchel Lee, Taylor McKimens, and more... This exhibition revisits a community of artists affiliated with the Alleged Galleryin Manhattan in the early 1990’s. On site will be both artworks and collaborative merchandise from artists including but not limited to: Aaron Rose, Andre Razo, Ari Marcopoulos, Barry McGee, Cheryl Dunn, Chris Johanson, David Aron, Deanna Templeton, Ed Templeton, Geoff McFetridge, Ivory Serra, Jo Jackson, Margaret Kilgallen, Mark Gonzales, Mike Mills, Rita Ackermann, Shepard Fairey, Stephen Powers, Susan Cianciolo, Thomas Campbell, Tobin Yelland, and Tom Sachs. The exhibition ran from August 24 – September 5, 2018.
From August 21-27 our Skate Advocates, Andrew Reynolds, Kevin "Spanky" Long, Curren Caples, Nestor Judkins, Zach Allen, and Kader Sylla joined the RVCA family in New York City for a number of events, centred around the gallery exhibition "Now & Then: Beautiful Losers, Alleged Gallery, and 90's Lower East Side". During the week RVCA Skate was out in the city, they held 2 different events with our favourite NY skateshop, KCDC. On August 22 there was an Ed Templeton photo show at KCDC Skateshop in Brooklyn, NY and on August 25th we hosted a BBQ/skate jam at the Pump Track Park in Brooklyn.
RVCA Advocates take over New York City with a series of events centered around RVCA NYC and the Now & Then: Beautiful Losers Exhibition. Our VA Sport Advocates represented their pillar of the brand and hosted our RVCA Family & Friends with many private + public events at legendary New York establishments including Overthrow Boxing Club, The Dogpound Gym, Superare Fight Club and Vitor Shaolin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
