In May of 2014 artist Jeff Canham and photographer Kanoa Zimmerman
spent a week exploring the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico, drawn
there by the rich tradition of hand-painted signs, the abundance of
colorful scenery and the lure of warm water surf. The state has had a
long history as an influencial boiling pot of cultures and traditions,
it has also been home to some of Mexico's most famous artists including
Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
Following on from their well received Japan exhibition and book launches
last year, Canham and Zimmerman are bringing their distinctively bright
paintings and photographs to Melbourne for this special exhibition.
Open May 1 - 28 at the RVCA Corner Gallery Melbourne (82 Stanley Street, Collingwood, 3066)
